I've been planning on specifically targeting striper here lately, just don't know where to go in my kayak to actually get around them. I've messed with Lady Bird by the dam, but with no luck. Thanks for posting this at least I know they are there, not I just need to find out what sort of tackle produces and what presentations are needed.

Most of the big stripers caught on Inks were caught before they closed the area near the back of Buchanan Dam after 9-11. Several of the businesses around Buchanan that have huge stripers mounted were all taken from Inks. A friend of mine caught one over 30 lbs last year by jigging near the point just west of the spillway.

Look at the release times on http://www.lcra.org/water/conditions/river_report.html

Then go to that dam you want to fish. Then chunk large topwater, redfins into moving water. If you can, try and find a eddy-pool and catch some big bass...

My $0.02.

(This has worked for me, catching a 9.6lb bass on Town Lake and a 38" striper below LongHorn Dam...)

I know there are some HUGE Gizzard shad in the highlake system. They get eaten by HUGE striper.
