My wife Jilly and i were fishing yesterday by 10 am. By about 10:30 the wind made the switch to the north and it was rocking on the main lake! Jilly doesn't care for that rough water so we just mainly fished various coves in the lower end of the lake mostly out of the wind. We didn't have a great day numbers wise but we did have a great time! The fish we did catch were caught on a shaky head or a baby brush hog. All of our fish came off of sharp drops of the rocks. Water temps ranged from 61-63 degrees. The water was very clear. :)

Yeah, no bologna on the wind yesterday. Petro and I hit it yesterday from about 8 to 1pm, and that was the roughest I have ever seen--pretty knarly for Travis.

The bite didnt really turn on for us until about 11, and even then it wasnt that hot. Lots of small fish--we did catch a couple decent fish late in the day--biggest was just shy of four--skinny fish. I wish we would have got out there for ther afternoon bite, bet it would have been much better late in the day.

TIMBERLAKE, we got off the water about 2:30 and I needed my kidneys retightened coming back in. Our largest was about 3lbs but he was nice and chunky! It would be a bear out there today what with the cold and wind! Better then where I'm from in northern Minnesota, it was -40 with the windchill this morning and my sister who lives close to the Twin Cities received 20" of snow yesterday! :)

It was a tough day on Travis yesturday. Fished the afternoon only landing a few dinks and one about two pounds on a lightly weighted fluke above steep drops. I must say it was one rough day no matter where you got. Did get to see how my new Skeeter handles 3 foot chop, not too bad although I only made the main lake run twice.

Well I was real smart and wore shorts and thought I would quit when that "afternoon" front showed up. It came in real early like a train and it was a little chilly. I caught 13 and friend caught 5 on t riged zoom fin. Had a lot of dinks and three nice keeper blacks to 2 1/2 lbs. Left at 3 - could not fish main body (wind) stayed in coves on lower end. will not put in at Cypress anymore - ramp is way too flat and shallow.

MF :D
