Sorry for the late report but here it goes. On the water around 8:00 with one rod and one bait...well several different versions of that one bait. Only two fish both falling for a 1/2oz football jig with a baby paca craw trailer in around 10ft of water. Probably could have caught more if I had fished other things but I was there to learn the football jig and had I had other things in the boat I would have put it down pretty fast. One of those fish made it well worth the freezing fingers I had that morning.

A 6lber biggest out of G-town for me and the biggest of a young 2009. The other fish was around 16".

Thanks to everyone who helped me out in the tips section and a big thanks to Wes at Sportsmans Warehouse for helping pick out a nice Falcon Cara rod and a few jigs.

I am also happy to report I got my first Jig Fish on Gtown Yesterday with my son in the fog. It only weighed 1/2 lb but it was nice to feel it hit that jig.

I think you will learn to love fishing with a jig. Not a bait you will get a lot of bites with, but the ones you get will be good ones.

I was also resently introduced to jig fishing and I have not really used a crankbait since! I haven't been to g-town yet but looks like I'll have to make a trip out there. Nice fish!
