Why does no one float tube here?

I was just wondering how come I never hear about anyone using float tubes or kick boats around here to fish? It's all just kayaks? I ask this because my boat is currently in the shop, and I've thought about busting out my float tubes again. When I was a teenager my float tube was my mini bass boat for years. I had it all decked out complete with rod rack and everything. Is there any reason that I shouldn't use a float tube in any of the lakes around here? Just wondering...

I've seen a few around. Would be a great way to work Town Lake, for example, putting in at Red Bud or around Barton Creek. No competition or waves from big boats either.

Decker, Fayette, and Bastrop would be three other good smaller lakes to tubefish on, but you have to beware of the bigger boats. Good luck.

There is absolutely no reason not to use your float tube, unless your worried about Water Moccasins, Piranha, Alligators and Crocodiles. ;D J/K Good luck!

Sure, I look forward to it. I know squat about fishing in Texas of course. But I've been bass fishing since I was 16 and I'm 43 now. And you know the old saying,"a bass is a bass is a bass". I've been fishing tubes and kickboats for 19 years. I started in the ocean in SoCal with float tubes. Now I fish lakes and rivers from a kickboat. (the ocean in NorCal is full of great whites!)
I'll get a yak eventually. "When in Rome..."  ;)
