Just received a call from my friend Glen. He took his dad fishing this morning on Lake Travis, before the winds came up. He called to ask me what a 24-1/8" bass would weigh. I told him to take the girth and length measurements and release her ASAP. He took pics and measurements and will send them to me shortly...Did not get too much other details..but I will be updating this post as the information is forwarded to me...

I love hearing great fishing reports, while I am NOT fishing.  :p

Per the chart below, it should weight close to 8.82lbs...

Like David said, GREAT fish for Travis. I'm surprised that Glen wouldn't have a scale by now with all of the Hawgs he's caught out there on fishing trips with Ranger. I'm going to try and put in at briarcliff marina (with my kayak  :-/) tomorrow morning and give it a whirl. Any particular depth and lure working the best right now? Have read all of the reports but they seem to be deep one day and shallow the next. Anything consistent in the morning based on tomorrows weather? Had to do a lil jig for the wife in order to get out there and would like to make it worth my while :D  Thanks :)

Was he trolling again today?  Saw him on Friday dragging baits.
YES. He was trolling for whites and stripers with his parents 22 foot Hurricane Deck Boat. I have not fished with him, since last weekend. He does not have a trolling motor on that boat. So, he has to free line troll crankbaits.

I will see him on Sunday and get the pics off his cell phone. Apparently, he caught two big bass. I have yet to see them...I call it trolling, not catching...Oh well....

Robert

PS: I bass fished the same area last week and caught nice 4lb bass in same area. However, he talked this evening about trying to mount a trolling motor on his deck boat...Will see
