Had a chance to hit TL in my buddy's Jon boat yesterday from 5-7. Water temp 67, partly cloudy.

Caught a few keepers and lost a couple nice ones due to bad hooksets.

As we tooled down the lake we realized how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful city. Dogs and their owners were running around auditorium shores, trains were passing by overhead and people were paddling by in little canoes, enjoying the warm weather and everything the city has to offer. Where else can you fish for bass in the middle of downtown?

Nice pics. I have to agree with your insight into Austin. What a wonderful city that is full of good bass fishing opportunitys right out our back door. Thanks for sharing.
Jim ;)
man, that is one nice guadalupe bass. Did you weigh him? More than likely it is a hybrid guadalupe x smallmouth. Town Lake is full of those things and they are a blast to catch. Thanks for the report.

It does look like a cross between the two. pretty cool.
I saw you guys yesterday evening when I was taking a jog around Town lake. You are right about Austin there is no other place I would live! Downtown fishing, the best kind ;D
There is a show on one of the outdoor channels ...I think its called City Limits and this guy fishes large cities in the NE.
Nice job! That is one beautiful guadalupe, or hybrid. Can a guadalupe bass cross with a LMB, or just with a smallmouth?

Hasn't been just the NE...saw one in Sacremento and Chicago a little while back....it is not a bad little show if you can get over the fake drama and Mike Iaconelli's screaming...he actually has some decent pointers mixed in that can definetely be applied to lady Bird. Don't think he would ever do a show in Austin because a fisher like Mike would knock out his limit in about half and hour if there is current and spend the rest of the show sitting on the roof of maggie mae's ;D This ain't exactly fishing Central Park with 40 degree water
I saw you guys out there las night, I was in the jon boat. I also caught one of those Hybrids. When I netted it an old Senko fell out of it's mouth but no hook in sight. I'll try and post a pick.
