Left Lago Vista Marina about 10 am Sunday 12 May with the intention of checking LMB in shallow water. Using Zoom Fat Albert in a greenish color on a 1/4 oz jig head tied to 8 lb mono. First tried a rocky bank and got lots of bites but only one solid hook up, but the fish jumped and threw the lure back at me. Moved over to a grassy bank and on the third cast got a solid hook up that promptly starting stripping drag. After what seemed like a long battle, but was probably only 10 or 15 minutes, I got the fish shown in the photo to the boat and finally in the boat. I tried to take a selfie, but the fish was too heavy. Two fishermen in a nearby boat generously offered to take a couple of pictures for me--thanks again guys. I released the fish and it seemed to be OK. Got my old heart beating fast there for a while.
