4:30pm till 7pm
very windy
water clarity: 2-3ft
water temp: 72

I fished Stillhouse for the first time today for a couple of hours. I was in the area for work and decided to bring the boat with me. Launched at Riversbend Park. Lake is full with flooded vegation along the banks. Caught lots of dinks on sb, cb, and rattletrap. Trap produced best but couldn't find any quality fish shallow. Winds were making it tough to find fish deeper. Ended up with 7 largemouth dinks -largest around 13in. A couple of guys at the ramp said 4 lbs won the weekly tournament there last week. Look forward to trying again on a more calm day. Was fun to be on a new lake. Would love to catch a smallie or two out there.

I've never fished at belton, but I personally had most success at the stillhouse than any other lakes. It's just that the past month and a half had been REALLY slow, since after frequent heavy rains = rise in their water level...

Stillhouse gets pounded with a lot of pressure for sure. However it is still a great lake much of the time. This time of year with rising water levels after many months of drought has scattered the fish all over. It will settle down soon. No worries.
