so I was on google earth yesterday and found an area that looked promising.  so I loaded up a rod and went to scout it.  access is scetchy at best.  the spot looked like it was @ 10' down but still deep enough to hold some fish.  walked the shore for @ an hour tossing a variety of soft plastics.  I dont think I can get any boat over 10' down to the area so I went and got a liquid logic coupe from danny at MOC kayaks and am going to try it later today.  here is some pics

this was the first one I caught

and the second

if there are small ones then there has to ba some dig ones too

well I took the little coupe down to the spot. fished the sides for 30 min with nothing till I got hung up in a tree. so I chunked a get five dinero in green pumpkin in the middle. got my other line freed and this little guy ran with it.

floated around some more and came up with this one on a bag bite 6" fineness in watermelon

went over to some submerged trees and brush, got bit up but no hook ups. started back to my launch point and came up with dinner. on the dinero

I didnt have my board with me so I dont know the sizes. fished for 2 hrs

This new spot to you looks like Apache Lake in Apache Shores to me.  Fished there many times out of our float tubes in the 80's.  No houses overlooking back then so very secluded, always caught a few, and was also a great place to pound way-too-many coldies...if there is such a thing :D.  Ahh, the good ol' days.  With as little rain as we've had lately not surprised that it's down.  Try the submerged trees at the north end if they're still there.  Glad to see there's still a few biting in there.

That's my neighborhood spot... 16 years of walking the dog and tossing some plastics along the way. I guess the spot is not so secret anymore. :-X

It holds huge fish but.. it would not be fair if I did not warn you guys of the Sasquatch and numerous Wolverines that live down there. The Chupracabre have moved across LA to Steiner Ranch!
