I launched before sunrise at Lake Pflugerville. Water level is up and the temp was 64°F. Bites were hard to come by. I caught three. Two on TR creature and one on texposed senko. I had two nips at the chatterbait. Off at 9am.

We entered the State Park around 11am. I toted three spinning rods down to the Lower Falls. My wife, son and I all got strikes. My son and I were fishing split shot finesse worms. We both briefly had fish on, but we lost them halfway to the bank.

On the way to the Upper Falls, my son and I changed into swim trunks. We jumped off the falls. Water level is up and the temp was 64°F! My son and I jumped and swam for a while. I drip dried and tried the finesse worm but no bites. I picked up my wife’s 4’8” ultra-lite Ugly Stik. She had it set up backwards (righty), but I dare not swap the handle around. She had a 5” Green Pumpkin General rigged texposed. I cast it out to the middle of the pool and BAM, fish on!

No fishing license are required in State Parks, so it was a good opportunity to get the Ugly Stik back in the wife’s hands. And other people were shirtless. Well, one other...I think he was fifteen.
