9.15 Lbs....

John Ratliff broke the Largemouth record Wednesday 1/14/2009 on lake Marble Falls. The Bass weighed 9.15 lbs

old record was
Bass, Largemouth 7.70lbs 24.00" Feb 3, 2007 Clancy Yarter  chatter bait

Like I stated before:

underwater contour map
hole I mean is on right side of map, near dam by left bank where it says 685 watch out for submerged rock along that 725 line on the map, in those photos... second photo shows part of line as an earthen sandbar & the line of rocks photos show some more

The drawdown lasts until Feb 16th,  few Kayakers should be out Sunday afternoon if I can get out there.

boat launch ramps are pretty useless right now.... bring a kayak, canoe, float tube, carry a Jon boat or the like.

No surprise to me that someone could get a lake record, especially during the drawdown. I posted a couple weeks ago on ABF, that this would be the time to go after the lake record, during the drawdown..

Congrats to John!

However, there still several more weeks before LCRA will fill up Marble Falls. And I bet there are some even bigger bass in there. No one ever fishes that lake. Too many other lakes to fish close by...IMO.

True, I need to get a record there, taking kayak out Sunday afternoon.

Probably a jon boat or bassbuster could get around out there. maybe just kayaks and float tubes and canoes ... see photo here http://www.austinbassfishing.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1232123013

Stripers & crappie records need breaking, I'll see what I can do.

I don't fish for catfish, but they have some huge ones in there too.

I think that John Ratliff is from Lampasas & fished Tourneys at Travis before, about 44 years old, if It's who I'm thinking of.
