Fished in the morning from 6-10 out of the canoe with my brother. The first few hours we changed things up pretty well (maybe too much) but only ended up with 3 fish total - 2 LMB with the biggest being under 2lbs and a pretty large crappie that hit a superfluke on dropshot at 25ft - never caught one on a dropshot before.

The last hour we caught 8 LMB all on wacky for 11 fish total. I remembered a thread a while back talking about the wacky rig which I had never really tried. No fish over 2lbs but man it was fun! They were all about 2-5ft deep around boat docks and just nailed it as soon as it got to that depth.

Was a great day on the lake and we saw a number of guys that all said they were having a decent day as well.

I like Shaky heads, and Dropshot for Travis, Small Finesse baits will catch some big fish on Travis. Keep at it!

An Angler of the year winner told me to do this, and I did.
I hooked my Personal Best LMB with Wacky rig on this hook weightless. Hook baby rattlesnake on Wacky, put weedguard down, pitched under docks ...just let it sink for an hour, sumpin will pick it up.

Thanks for the info - I was using a regular worm hook weightless. Wasn't sure about using a weight or not. What size weight do you guys usually use?

Lwink, You can get those hooks from Jackie at Fish Finders Marine. And Brian at Elite Watersports may have some. I was in his shop the day it opened, so I don't know what he's got, but he's prolly got those.

I only use those two hooks for wacky rigging. Especially the weedguard one. If I need a weight, then I'd use the weighted hook, Those hooks are actually for a technique called Flick Shake And Jackall lure's Flick Shake Worm is perfect for em. And a Senko.

Moonraker (or anyone who knows) - where is Elite Watersports at on LA?

Launch at Walsh Landing on Lake Austin, next to Tom Miller Dam and Hula Hut.  Go upstream a few hundred yards and look to your left.  See a large marina with gas pumps and where the police park their boat.  Elite is right there as part of the marina.
