Well, we got out there, ol Luke and I, at the buttcrack of dawn. It looked to be a great day so we dropped the boat in at Mansfield Dam and while he parked my truck, I was busy getting rained on.. lol

The rain was cold as was the rest of the weather, but Luke was from Wisconsin and I am just plain stupid so we rode through it.

We went to a couple spots that Moedog and I fish (it's okay Robert... I pinky swore him to secrecy and then made him fish blindfolded.)

We caught about 8-10 fish just under 15inches long. I could say 30, because Luke was blindfolded, but the man can smell fish like no-body's business, so he would know I am lying. Next time, I plant a fish under his chair so he can't tell when I haul one in...

Anyway, we caught almost all of them on a white super fluke, my favorite bass treat. We also got one on a shakey head trophy hunter baby rattlesnake, and a lot of hits off of other things. We hooked one that broke the line, although I still believe he was packing a knife.

Anyway, it dried out later, although I did not as I slipped out of the boat when a passing 14lb bass tried to pick a fight with me. (ok.. I was going on the shore to save my little fluke.. I am a cheap sun of a gun after all.

And for you enthusiasts out there, they were all caught on Walmart's best rods and reels.. none of which would get you in the doghouse with the wife for buying.

That's all for now.

Did I mention we were cold and wet?

You definitely win the award for the most entertaining post in a while, thanks for the laughs!  I fished Travis on Sunday during the ATX Bassmasters tournament.  I ended up with 14+ pounds and big bass at a little over 5 pounds.  The highlight for me was catching this spotty that went 3.23 pounds.  My biggest to date for sure.  I'm a little on the large side so fish wind up looking a little small when I hold them.  The second picture has a 5.21 pound largemouth for reference.  I caught the largemouth on a crankbait and the spotty on a jig, both shallow.

Ed, I have a rule of thumb... if the guy holding the fish makes the fish look small... he can say they were aaaannny weight he wants.

They look like 10lbers!

lol.. nice and very colorful fish.

We were going to take some pics of the fish we pulled in, but we were too busy fishing and since they were too small to keep (although they sure did look nice).. we could not keep them till we pulled in.

I tried that in the past.. does not work.. "Sir, is that a fish flipping around in your pants?"..

It just all goes downhill from there...
