Limey and I launched at Mansfield this morning at sunrise - ramps are just fine, courtesy dock there flooating, quite nice...all four lanes open. Fished the dam with tiny torpedoes for first hour, Limey caught a footlong largemouth, but fish popping all over on top. Were hoping for some schooling whites, no dice there. Moved then to the island just north of there, some newly submerged weeds and very clear water produced another small Guadalupe bass by yours truly on a chart/white, silver willow leaf spinner. You could snorkel there it was so clear - had a couple chasers and saw a toad lmb swimming. Hooked another slot fish on a point there, got near the boat and threw the hook. Wind was blowing into the bank there and made for tough manuevering, but fish were there. All in all beautiful morning, off by 11 am...

I'd guess 14 inches on the low side, but not sure...would need to look that up, it likely changed as well as of Sept 1st. Consult the TX Parks and Wildlife site or paper guide, I'll do so, have one at home.

I was on LT Sunday afternoon with a friend and we had some luck. Caught 3 keeper LMB and 3 small Guadalupes, all on a drop-shot rig. The Mansfield ramp looked great. They poured more concrete so all 4 lanes will be in the water when the lake drops below 645. I'd send them a "thank you for the improvement" if I knew where to send it.

I am sure they would love to hear from you Lone Star.

We had three generations on LT on Sunday from 8AM to noon. We fished the dam area and the Cypress Creek area. We managed 6, all keepers since you can keep any sized Guad. Two LMB, both 15 inchers, and 4 guads. Great morning to be on the lake with your son and two of his sons. All caught on plastics of one variety or other in 5 to 120 feet of water.

The "small" bass in LT are mostly Guadalupe bass with no size limit, you can keep 5 any size. Not likely to fish them out this century, they are prolific spawners.

There are plenty of small LMB in the lake but they usually grow fast or they are eaten.
