SATURDAY, MARCH 29th.
Launched at Point Venture at 7:30am. Cloudy skies, air temperature was 51 degrees with a light North wind. Water temperature was 62 degrees. Water was ultra clear to 10 feet!
Fished shallow, with plastics. Small bass to 14". At noontime, ran up towards Lago Vista, and caught bass on crankbaits and plastics. Brush hogs seem to catch the smaller bass. No topwater bites. No spinnerbait bites.
Only saw one other bass boat the whole day. (Skeeter bass boat)
Glen and I covered alot of water to find quality fish. Finally came across some nice bass on rock wall drop-offs in 30 feet. Best five was 18lbs or so. Overall good day.
Helped a stranded boater out, which took some time away from fishing....
Some of the bass would follow it to the boat, while others would slam it about 5 cranks off the shore. Did not look for bedding fish. However, it was so clear that I would have spooked them if I was looking. Bigger bass were in 10 to 15 feet of water and smaller , closer to shore.
Here are a couple of pics. We caught over 50 bass to 22.5" (33 over 14"), 4 striper from 21" to 25"), 1each 14"crappie and 1 18" blue catfish, all on lures.
PICTURES OF THE BIG STRIPER ARE IN THE STRIPER/WHITE BASS SECTION.
My friend Glen, is 6' 3" and 245lbs. He looks small in a couple of the pics. ;D
