Started at 1pm...Launched at Point Venture. Started fishing main lake points and secondary points in deep coves. Water temp was 50.8 degrees in main lake. Back of coves, 58.3 degrees. Water was off color in mid-lake area and got murkier towards the Pedenaless River. Fished Point Venture area, Briarcliff, Lago Vista, Cow Creek, Perdenales River to Mona's and back....
Summary:
Caught 30+ Black bass today. No Guadalupes or spotted. Best five = 15lbs. Most of the bass were small or dinks. Big bass was 4lbs. All bass hit Bomber Flat A in firetiger and Manns 15+ crankbaits. Tough day, at times. Fish were near bait pods or on wind blown cove/points. Also caught some right out in the middle of the mouth of coves, in 30 feet of water, near pods of bait.
Off the water at 6:30pm....
Winds were gusting at times to 15-20mph...Did anyone see the big fire, near Bee Creek area? STARFLIGHT helicopter would use a bucket and scoop the water up and dump it on the fire. Pretty cool. I have only seen this on TV...Saw it first hand today...The helicopter was getting water in BEE CREEK. The pilot did a great job holding the helicopter right above the water as the bucket was filling up...
