Went out of Cedar Breaks yesterday evening after picking up my boat from Jacky. Only fished for a couple of hours. Graphed most fish in the 18-22 ft. range and with the wind blowing pretty well, I threw deep cranks and flutter spoons most of the time. Didn't get any bites.

When dusk finally set in, I started throwing a topwater and had a really nice 2+ lb. smallie pounce on it. That fish got off after a couple of secs. That was the only bite I had - got off the water a short time after that. Wish I'd gotten a pix of that fish. Been quite a while since I've landed a smallie that had some size to it! :'( :'( :'(

I've been catching them on a c rig for the last couple of months in the 15 - 24' range. I also tried other baits like a crankbait, spoon, or dropshot without any luck. Some days the catch rate would be 10+ an hour, some less, and of course some days sucked. I usually catch bass all summer using a buzzbait or super spook jr but not so much this year. I have landed a couple over 5 lbs this summer and a couple over 6 lbs in the spring, but have heard reports of others catching up to 6, 7, or more lb fish this summer. There have also been a couple of different people break off fish that would go 10 lbs right at the boat this year. Georgetown has been hit or miss, but when it's good, it's good. Don't be afraid to try the brush piles set by Sun City.

Fishhead - I actually thought I should try slow rolling a spinnerbait or throw a c-rig since I felt I wasn't getting my cranks deep enough, but I really didn't have a lot of time to spend on the water so I tried to make what I had tied on work.

Still - that's a bunch of good info. It's a pretty little lake - and since I've moved up north, I think I'll prob try to fish it more often. Only if I didn't have to pay like $3-4 r/t to use Mopac to get to 45/I-35. Oh well!

Thanks for the report and tips. I live in Round Rock would go to Lake Georgetown more often if I could figure out how to catch fish out there.
