Hey guys. I am going to Lake Fork at the end of this month, and it turns out we will be there during the Toyota Bass Champs Tourney. :( I was wondering what to expect as far as fishing pressure (obviously a lot), and what our game plan should be, do's dont's, etc...
Also any recent Fork reports or tips would help. Thanks in advance :)

1. Obviously, it will be very busy out there so be extremely careful and aware of your surroundings at all times. Lot of crazes on Fork!
2. Start fishing very early or even night fish...Black or Black/Blue stick-baits, 10inch worms and big jig should do the trick in 15 FOW or less.
Plan B: Keep driving a little further East/SouthEast and hit Toledo Bend

Good Luck!

Lunk,

Fish Ninja and I were in the area last Sat, so we dropped in for a few.

Found out real quick Media Bass had a T going on. It was completely stupid out there. Every point, cut, spot, had 4-6 boats on it. You could count at least 30 boats everywhere.

I think Champs will be much bigger than Media Bass.

Anyway, one guy said the fish were still staging in 8-12'. We fished shallow for a while and would have to agree.

Good luck

I was waiting on EA to post...

CROWDED is an understatement!

Here is a post talking about it!

I found this fishing report:
http://lfmfr.com/

Quote from one Lake Fork Guide:
I expect the spawn to continue through April into early May, as it does most every year on Fork. By the end of April, many fish will already be in post spawn and early summertime patterns. As those females feed up after the spawn, the result is our most consistent fishing of the year for numbers of quality fish in the 3 to 7 lb range, with a shot at a 10+. That means topwaters early and all day on cloudy days, and then deep water structure fishing the rest of the day. So if your plans don’t allow you to take advantage of the spawn this year on Fork, don’t despair, you can still enjoy what most locals consider the best fishing of the year on Fork—May through July ( I will be returning during this time)

The Toyota Pro Bass fisherman list:

Last year, nearly 30000 people attended this event. There is a lot of pre-fishing going on right now. I would stay off, unless you are fishing it...My friend that is a guide on that lake, said that ten times more fisherman on the lake than February.

Good Luck!

I don't think you mean Bass Champs..............it is the PAA Toyota Texas Bass Classic...............with 100 anglers from the FLW and Bassmaster tournaments competing for $750K.................the tournament runs from April 18th to 20th.............but there will also be a pro-am on the 17th...................

This is a huge media event and there could possibly be more spectator boats out there then tournament anglers................so it most likely will be crazy as has been mentioned above
