Was out on Lake Buchanan Friday afternoon and Sunday morning. Friday I caught 9 blacks using a watermelon red baby brush hog fishing points in about 4 to 8 feet of water. Bass seem to be moving shallower preparing for the spawn which should begin any day now. Water temps were around 58 degrees still. On Sunday morning, same story. Caught four more blacks, one being my new personal best. 7.25 pound female with her belly ready to bust with eggs.  She's a beauty!

Yep, it sure felt like a double digit when I was reeling her in. The crazy thing was I actually lost her on Friday. She snapped my line in a hurry. I went back on Sunday and caught her in the same exact spot. This time I set the drag correctly and still was worried about getting her in the boat. I was using 14 lb mono. I weighed her with a digital scale first. Then double checked with a regular scale and both read seven and a quarter. Cant wait to catch a double digit. Cant even imagine!!! :D

Freakin' awesome fish and great photos! It's amazing how giant you can make a fish look when you hold it right in a photo. I've got a pic of a 3lber that everyone swears has got to be 10 pounds. You're scales are most likely correct with 7.25lbs, and that's definitely something to be proud of.
