Fished Lake Buchanan yesterday from dawn until 3pm. While the bite was not fast and furious, the fish I did catch were mostly solid keepers. I broke off the first bite of the day due to ice forming in the eyelets of my fishing rod. I usually dip the rod in the water before each cast to melt the ice off, but forgot to this time (wouldn't you know it!). It broke (cut) before the rod even had time to load up, so I have no idea if it was any good or not. I had a total of 7 bites on the jig, and only one was a short fish. Best five weighed in at 16.92 lbs and my big fish was around 5 lbs. Most of my bites came in the afternoon between 1:30pm and 2:30.
