Bass-n-bay invited out to Lake Bastrop on Tuesday morning. Arriving to the lake at 8am, found clear skies and cool conditions. Light Northerly winds at 5-10mph. Water temp in main lake was 65 degrees.

Headed to discharge to find Moonraker and 4 other boats in discharge. Not much was happening except for bass from 1-2lbs being caught on flukes and topwater.

At 10am, headed to main lake. Fished main lake points, flats or anything where there was 4-8feet of water with eel grass. Winds had increased to 10-15mph. We made long drifts along shorelines and near dam. Matt was using a carolina rig and I was using a lipless crankbait. By far, Matt was catching alot more fish than I was. I was catching bigger fish, but half as many.

Totals:
Matt caught 15+ bass on carolina rigs to 3.50lbs
I caught 5-6 bass on lipless crankbank to 4.90lbs. (Several 3's)

Great fun out there for sure. I saw and missed several nice fish too. There were swiping at the lure, not inhaling it like the last time I fished there.

Sounds like the kinda day I had on Decker yesterday.  I didn't realise Bastrop was so warm right now.  Guess they're really not generating much at Decker.  Get those pics posted ;D

That was a lots of fun over at trop yesterday. I caught fish as soon as we got there until the very last amount of day light. I caught a couple while I was reaching for my cell phone-seems like business calls pick up when I am trying to do something other than work. Next time I'm leaving the phone in the truck. David caught some nice fish too. He caught one larger than average too. Post up the pic of that fat pig!!!

Come on now.  If he served his country, he deserves respect.  Agree with Lance, don't blame the soldier because you don't like the policies and decisions made by our leaders.  Thanks to ALL that serve our country, present, past, and future.

Politics and religion and such are not the best topics for this forum.

Thanks RO, I forgot to add this. I have fished with Marine0311 and found him to to be a very nice respectable individual.
As Ro said, I thanked him for his service as I did the person I fished with in the Fishing for freedom tourney.

Harsh bro. I'll vouch for Marine0311 as I have met him, good guy. We should be commending any and all soldiers, past and present, for following their orders and putting their lives on the line so that we can live and fish in the country we call home. No one should frown upon someone showing pride in being in the military, just my .02.

Sometimes how things are said on a forum and what someone actually means are very different. Typing something may come across as harsh when it really wasn't meant to be. I won't speak for Marine, but, I seriously doubt he meant anything by it, knowing the type of person he is.

If it was meant negatively, it would probably be better resolved through PM and not aired out in someone's report.

Don't take this as an attack on you for posting either, just general statement.

I agree. nothing about the people who serve. It is just, the first time I wrote on the forum marine0311 smart a$$ did not like my spelling. I hope that everyone understands that I know our troops serve with the greatest intentions no matter what the cost. I also know that this country is run by a bunch of Hitlers. I did not mean to put everybody in marine0311 catagory. When you write and respond show respect. That is the first thing you learn in the military.

Respect others ways, and beliefs.

Sorry Choke, but it is "category," not "catagory."  Agree with Pro, use the PM button for personal attacks, and maybe even, compliments, or say, words of thanks.  Like "Thanks for serving our country, but my mother never taught me how to spell, so give it up!"  Something like that. My spelling is poor too. Don't sweat the small stuff. Fish ON!

Wow..... Man good thing I love to fish and have been busy with school, but I never ever once said anything about someone's spelling I'm the worst at it myself. O well thanks guy for standing up for me until I saw this thread, lol kind of crazy.... O well I'm glad that I have lost so many :'(Great Marines :'( so choke can talk about his freedom, if you don't like what is going on run for President and change it, until then just be happy that you freedom is protected.....
