It only took 8.20 pounds to finish in the money last week so who knows what will happen this week.  I do know that it was early May (5/7/08 to be exact) when Kevin caught his 11.34 pounder last year and set the bar for the Certified Arbor Care $300.00 Big Bass Bonus.

The lake record is swimming around somewhere and if you happen to catch it during the tournament Hustler Turf, Mitchell Outdoor Equipment and TTZ will award you $25,000.00.

We'll be at City Park around 5:30, registration and livewell checks start at 6:00 pm.  Please check with the Tournament Director for the official time at check in and do not launch from City Park as the gates close at 10:00 pm and you will be locked in.

Complete rules can be found here: http://ttz1.com/texas-tournament-zone/ttz-lake-austin-wed-night-tournament/

This might turn into a search mission...

Kayaker on Lake Austin missing

Rescue crews on Lake Travis search for a missing kayaker. (Joe Moreno) Crews are searching for a man that disappeared while kayaking on Lake Austin Tuesday night.

His kayak was found in Lake Austin early Wednesday morning with heavy damage.

A 911 caller that was a neighbor who said he heard screaming from the water just before midnight Tuesday night. Crews began searching at 12:30 a.m., stopped at 3 a.m., and then continued again Wednesday morning when the sun came up.

Austin Travis County EMS workers and LCRA crews are searching the waters. The search is based at Edgewater Drive and Mecca Drive on the south side of Lake Austin in west Travis County.

We'll have more updates on this developing story

I'm fairly new to the Wednesday night tourny's and I'd like to share what happened to us last night. We got to the ramp, and I couldn't finnd the drain plug. Always in the glove box and apparently 1 too many beers at the last Wednesday nighter. Anyways, I started asking tourny fisherman if they had an extra plug. I spoke with Greg and he was willing to loan me his back up, but couldn't find his backup. However, he was willing to fly down to CP and get a backup from someone else. Meanwhile, I asked another tourny fisherman (I think Mike -- in a Red Ranger), and he did have a back up. Thanks Mike!

We got the drain plug and headed to CP only to see Greg & co. WOT back to 360. They were going too fast for us, but I knew they were heading back to the ramp to loan us the boat plug they had must have borrowed from someone else.

Anyways, I thought it was really cool to see such willingness to help. I don't know the two boats that helped us out, but we owe you 4 a huge thanks for allowing us to fish in the tourny. We ended up catching a 3 lber and got short bit about 10 times. Strange bite last night.

I'll look forward to sharing some of my beers next time we run into each other. Cheers.

Btw, my boat takes 11 minutes to go from 360 to CP. These other 2 boats w/V max 250's only took 5 minutes. I think it's about time for an upgrade....Maybe that should be Momma's birthday present ;D

Thanks again!

Cary,

Yes, that is Greg and Wade MeHaffey in Basscat. They are great friends and people who will help anyone, anytime.

To anyone that finds themselves in any situation on the Wed night T, before, during or after, just save my number in your phone and give me a ring. I will make sure we send a crew to help you out.

BTW, want to go from 360 to CP in 3 mins, give me a call also. I have a 2008 21 XRD Bullet for sale.

For real though, we are all about having fun out there and fishing for a little cash and bragging rights, helping a brother out is most important.

Sounds like there were several stories last night and we have one also. This was our first Wed night tournament and while getting into the boat at the ramp ROY dropped his truck keys in the water. I marked a spot and Roy got into the water and searched for them for several minutes with no luck. We were approached by Williep and Bassman and when they heard what had happened they jumped right in to help. Williep located them and we were on our way. I am pretty new to fishing but I thought it showed what kind of camadrie is out there between fisherman. Just wanted to say thank to those two for assisting us. BTW we only caught two and neither were keepers. Slow night for us...
