Blue Skeeter (Chris) and I got on the lake around 5:30 am. Ran up to Quinlin Park area before the sun came up and managed one keeper on a top water bait right at day brake. Moved on up the lake around the buoys and caught a few more dinks on top water baits around the rocks. Went further up the lake and Chris saw a nice bass swimming around, threw to it and caught it on a shaky head rattle snake. Now we are back tracking and fishing everything we can. We managed to pick up one more keeper and several more dinks. We fished for 8-½ to 9 hours and came up with a total of nine fish, three keepers and six dinks. Very slow day for sure. The weather was nice; the ski boats were out in numbers to say the least, but over all we had a pretty good time.
Towards the end of our trip as we were approaching the boat ramp, Chris looked at me and said, well we put in a good day on this lake, and did you learn anything new about it? Unfortunately I told him no. I told him that I knew just as much now as I did when we first got started. I say that, but heck we did find a few new places to fish. But the truth be told, we still have not found what I would call a good honey hole as of yet. In fact, I’m really beginning to wonder if there is such a place.
