I decided to see what Lady Bird Lake had to offer.  I made my way to a spot near Austin High around noon and decided to try a Strike King 3/4 ounce White/red spinner bait.  I had never used it before.  I got this fish on my fist cast and I used a yo yo retrieve.  All I know is it gave up quite a fight and the line snapped as soon as I lifted it over land.  I was getting discouraged seeing you all post pics of lunkers and all I've caught were dinks as you call them.   The best part was that a little old lady took the picture and said this was the biggest fish she ever saw come out of this lake.
I think now I can say with confidence that I'm a bass fisherman for life. ;

Congrats on the nice fish! Suggestion for next time you catch another. Try not to throw them on the ground. It messes up their slime coats and causes fungal infections that sometimes spread to other fish... bla bla... you get the point. Nice fish!

Yeah I know it's not good for the fish, again the line snapped as I brought it over land. If that hadn't happened the pic would have been better.
