I was wondering about fishing the upper part of Lake Austin. I've been fishing about a mile below the Mansfield dam for about a year now and haven't really caught anything too impressive. Is the water too cold up there?
I think it is just too cool right now for them to be real active and set up in areas ( stageing then bedding) after the spawn they will settle in their home areas.
I was out yesterday, 3/13, and registered 59 degrees at Quinlan and up to 63 degrees below 360. Noticed shad hitting in the cove right by Lake Austin CC.
