Fished Lake Austin about 6 times in the past 2 weeks and it has been the same slow pattern -- at least for me.   I strayed away from the senko and brush hog and finally found that they would hit a jerk shad coming out of the grass.   But even this only produced 3 or 4 decent keepers, but nothing big.  When I got a flurry on the chrome jerk shad I thought they may have moved away from the crawdad to more on the shad, but at this point I have a million 'theories,' but not much to report.  Our highlight from this morning was a nice blue catfish on a senko.  Looking forward to seeing if the draw down changes things.

Thanks for the info. Tough decision I'm sure I wonder what impact this will have on the fishing? I guess more hydrilla the better for fishing, but that didn't prove to be the case for me this year. Maybe they are up under the grass up north hiding out.

I was out on LA this PM. It had been at least 6-weeks since the last time out when we caught a lot of fish. I went way up to Mansfield damn and then worked down. One thing I noticed was all the hydrilla up against the docks north and as I worked down, I noticed that the weed beds seemed to have been clipped down 1-2 feet. The conclusion I came to was that they opened mansfield recently with a hard current to clean things out on LA. Just my conclusion. As far as fishing, I had three hits. No fish. :(

Well I went out to LA yesterday as well and we had one 4 pounder hit close the dock before the sun even came up we only fished right there because we didn't want to hit anything so we waited for the sun. In all it was a very cold day and I think we boated 3 keepers and 2 dinks. While I was out there it looks like the water has come down about a foot and half, I also think that a lot of the weed lines have been cut and are moving not sure what to think about LA, I do know that I will post the picture of the 4 pounder tonight and it was cold as heck out:-/ :-/ :-/

The "barge" that cuts the hydrilla was at the "fat farm" about 3 weeks ago. I'm guessing that what happened to the grass around the docks.
