What a day! I was able to sneak out to the lake for a four hour session and it was awesome. There were quite a few three and four pounders in the creeks but all of the big girls I saw today were on the main lake. While chatting with Weemo I looked down and saw Ms. Piggie. Three or four flips later it was fish on. Weemo was nice enough to net her out of his boat and shoot a few quick pics for me.
Weighed 8 pounds, 8 ounces on Weemo's digital scale.
Same fish.
I moved on down the lake a little when a nice guy standing on top of his dock saw me fishing and proceeded to tell me about a couple of fish he had been seeing. I asked if they were bass and all he could tell me was that one was big and the other was little. I knew what to do from there. He pointed out the deep bed (I would have been lucky to see it without his help) and this girl was locked down.
This one went 9 pounds 8 ounces.
Same fish.
I moved across the lake and put the absolute smackdown on another 8-10 three to five pounders. Just before I had to leave I saw an absolute whale locked down. I flipped for about 5 minutes and just had to go. I was lucky enough to see a lot of fish today, including the two above, and the big girl still out there is well over ten. I'll be set up on her first thing tomorrow. Hopefully pictures to follow.
