Fished Lake Austin this evening from 8pm till around midnight from Quinlan. The first two hours were slow and I couldn't seem to get bit throwing TR and WW plastics, top water, swim baits and shallow running cranks over the grass. Just after 10pm I changed worms and got bit on the first cast. Next cast I caught a nice chunky 20.5" fish off a dock. It weighed 5-14 on my digital scale which weighs at least a few ozs light. I'll call it a 6 lber. On the next cast to the same dock I caught another nice 18" fish. Had several more bites but didn't catch any others. ;D

I'm guessing the ski boats are out during the week too?
The ski boats don't get out in numbers nearly as early during the week, usually around 1:30 to 3:00pm depending which part of the lake you're on. I highly recommend fishing LA during the week if you can.

Nice fish JT!

I'm kinda surprised that they aren't out earlier during the week, school's out. ???
I have seen a few ski boats out early, last time I launched at 6:45am there were two ski boats launching. They just don't seem to be getting out in large enough numbers to be a major annoyance until early to mid afternoon on most weekdays. I don't mind too much if 3-4 of 'em go by in an hour. To their credit, I will say that the vast majority them seem to be safe and courteous boaters, their wakes are just too damn big.
