Fished with Nitroguy on LA yesterday. We launched at Quinlan around 9:30 and started out throwing spinner bait and frogs. Saw lots of fish swimming in the clear water but could not get a bite. Started moving around and hammered the usual holes but nothing was holding. Fished shallow, deep, in the sun, in the shade, docks and banks....still no fish! That familiar LA smell was starting to hover around the boat so we decided to try something different. Started fishing laydowns and transition areas slowly with texas rig worms. Finally started getting bites. We ended up with 8 fish...mostly unders with a couple 3-4lb keepers. Turned out to be a descent day at the end. Was nice to hook a few on such an awesome weather day.
Almost forgot -we saw a coyote trotting around where you would normally see the wild turkeys hanging out...Cool.

I was out with Louis yesterday also and it started gettin pretty smelly also. We might have seen the same Yoti if he was up lake walkin the bluffs. We had issues with an attack swan down lake by the reed island. I thought the damn bird was comin in the boat but he settled on attacking the big motor. He could see his reflection in it. He chased us around for 15 minutes. We finally snuck 1 in the boat before we left on a (C)heat rig dragging behind the boat...

Tough out there...

Dave,

Is the Louis you fished with in a management position at work? If so you sure did pick the right guy to go fishing with!

Louis, if you're reading this I met some of your employees downtown last night. Need to swing by and catch up when I get a chance...be sure to have a cab ready for TDub!

Haven't fished Austin in a LONG while but might get out there this weekend. You guys starting to see any talent out there yet?

I might have spotted a couple diamonds in the ruff under 360 bridge as we passed by. Can never be certain though until you're within less than 20 feet away IMO. What looks good from afar can quickly turn into a gargoyle when you get closer...Give it a couple more weeks and I'm sure your stable will fill up quickly.  ;)

Thanks for the heads up Don! We're gonna start up the Wed Nighters Mar 11th, should be perfect timing and weather to chase a few hawgs while enjoying some refreshments and scenery.

With all the prefishing for this tourney or that trail going on lately fishing has gone from being fun and turned into a more of a chore. Can't wait to get back to hanging out with buddies, telling stories and maybe taking home some beer money at the end of the evening!

Hope to see you out at a few more this year.

I was out there yesterday (2/18) from about 2:00pm till dark. Fished below city park most of the time. Thought it was going to be a good day when I landed a 4 pounder on a jig in the reeds after only fishing for 15 minutes. Never had another bite. With the jig we fished docks, rocks, reeds, brush piles and lay downs but nothing. Saw lots of beds in the back of creeks with a lot of bass, large and small swimming around. Some may have been locked on beds but the wind made it impossible to see so we couldnt really fish for them. Oh well, it was still a beautiful day on the lake. Maybe next time.

My wife and I got on the water at 5pm, headed downstream from the Casa in Apache Shores and posted up along the docks just below the Dell compound. We fished until dark and boated 5, all under 3lbs. I stuck to the docks fishing a T-Rigged Grande Honcho in watermelon which I stuck with the entire time. Lots of bites, both under docks to about 10 feet out.

LA has been frustrating for me lately so hopefully it will continue to keep my attention as the water warms up. We saw 2 Falcons, 1 scooped a fish up about 70 yards from the boat. Awesome evening!

I just started fishing LA in my new CC. Stop by and say hello as I am always looking for people to fish with.

yes, it's a full size ramp with moderate parking area. ramp can be slippery when wet from a lot of boats launching. be advised you may need sand or cat litter to throw under the tires if you are launching solo with a 2WD truck. Have fun!
