By the looks of the schedule, it seems that only two HHJ Lake Austin Classics remain.

12/2 and 12/16. The next one would fall on 12/23, which I think is to close to Christmas to be worth it.

So what a few of us have been talking about is having the 12/16 HHJ as a special tournament. Sort of the Championship round for the Final HHJ of 2006.

This would be started and finished from City Park and include a BBQ/Fish Fry ( NOT BASS ) blowout at the end. ( For all those who Fish the HHJ )

It would include, Good Friends, Good Grub, Cold Beer, and Tall tales of the one that got away. We can also dicsuss the plans for the 2007 schedule. ( I think it would be great to continue the HHJ into the spring for the spawn until Alan's Wednesday night Jackpots start up.) We can see what everyone thinks. This would be of course after the Lake is refilled.

Just a thought so far, so if you FISH the HHJ, and have some idea, feel free to weight in.

Will this BBQ be family or just us guys?

I think it is a great idea to continue the HHJ's after the lake refilling. I only suggest that we wait maybe a week or so after it is filled so that all debris is either washed away or floated downstream. When is it expected to be refilled? I cant remember off hand. And when do Alans jackpots start again?

Can everyone fish the Championship HHJ or just those that placed at some point this year? I cant fish the 12/2 because of FOM on the same date.

I am still pumped from this weekend.

Fishless,

You are right the Fishers of Men LA open is the 12/2. I am planning on fishing that too.

Correction, there is only One more HHJ before the drawdown. Even better reason to have the BBQ afterwards.

The HHJ is always a open tourney to everyone.

I'm fishing the FOM on 12/2, so I'd be out anyway.....but i'm ready for the one on the 16th.

We have talked about a DrawDown tourney in the past. It would need to be a paper tourney maybe with digital photo backups, due to the lack of livewells. Not sure how many guys have small boats. But my guess is that it would take a 25 to 30lb sack to win. The weather is really hit or miss, so it might be a short notice deal. 4 years ago, Kent and I had a 10-8, 8-2, 6-8, 6-0, 5-10. plus a bunch of 3's and 4's on one cold afternoon. We carry Kent's boat down to the water, that thing gets heavier each year....pretty soon i'll be paying my kids to carry the stuff down there for us!!! I plan on creating another DVD during the drawdown this year. I'll get a bunch of footage, if anyone is into editing let me know.

I'm in for the tourney and fish fry on 12/16.

I can't make the 12/2 tourney due to son's bday and 2 holiday parties going on that day.

I'd like to see the HHJ tourneys continue after the refill in the spring. They are a lot of fun.

Alan, I'd be willing to contribute some beer money to get a copy of your DVD of footage from the drawdown. I was already thinking of doing the same thing.

Curious, did the HHJ happen this past Sat. 12/2? Next HHJ on 12/16? And how did Fisherman do both on 12/2?Stop to go to HHJ weigh in, reboat their fish sacks and start chunking for FOM again? If so, I guess those fish got their money's worth.

What? ???

There was no HHJ last saturday, the FOM served as the HHJ if you want to think of it that way....

As I understand it the last HHJ of the year will be 12/16. And the BBQ get together after that.
