When: Saturday Sept 15th 2007

Where : Lake Amistad Resort

Details : To come soon. Just want to give as much advance notice as possible so everyone who wants can make the arrangements..

We will have a special HHJ Classic T on Lake Amistad, but more than that a takeover of the Lake by the ABF crew. We will be staying at the Lake Amistad Resort which is 2 mins from 2 different ramps. Lake Views, really nice and affordable. I would suggest to make you reservations soon.

Some of us will be heading down on Thursday and leave on Sunday. The T will be on Sat, so even if you have to work Friday, you still can make it. The drive is easy, about 4.5 to 5 hrs..

We will have a big BBQ and Party at the Resort after the T. Everyone is welcome to join us..

Once you see RudeHo's graphic in this post, this baby is locked in stone..... ( Rude, can you make a graphic ? ;D )

See y'all then  8)

oh yea... Bass Chumps are more than welcome too. Zdawg, Zdawg,Zdawg ;)

Greetings from Shanghai. :p

Fob, I looked at the calendar and picked a date. I was going to go with OCT 15, but that is too far away.

Grnhead, Can change the date one time, but no voting. Remember the Smackdown fiasco?

Lets make it 9/22/07.

As for the heat, what I was thinking is a two part one day T.

Part 1 - First light until 1p Best five fish.
Part 2 - 4p until dark Best Five fish.
Combined heavy bag wins.

Hey all,

I get a kick out of this forum, and view it a couple times a day or more. But don't post much. I will one day make it to the HHJ, at least to meet some of you folks. Heck, fob seems like a drinking machine.

Sure would be interested in doing this trip. Amistad is way to big to make long runs from Diablo twice a day for those that want to run that and have to be back by 1 and leave again at 4. You might be better off on one weigh in time, and fish all day. In addition, early October may be better for Temps at least. But I certainly will look at the 22nd if that is the best date.

Just my 2 cents!!

Ahhhhh soooooooo!  Forgot you were flying out again this week.

Man its gonna be tough to get everyone on the same page for this one.  As far as the 2 part T goes...I see your reasoning behind doing so as we are not that hardcore to stay out all day, especially when fun fishing.  But, if we have first check in at 1, by the time we finish trailering the boats (fyi, it is like a 10 mile walk from the ramp to parking lot at Diablo East , I vote Box Canyon :-X) and weigh the fish it will be almost time to drop back in.

Personally, I can wait a little longer for cooler weather...just my thoughts.

shimano-man, look forward to seeing you out at one of the jackpots.  Its a good time with a good group of guys.

If you have the weigh-in at Black Brush it wouldn't be that bad. The walk is a lot less than at Diablo. Box Canyon (imho) is too dusty. Black Brush is closer to the rooms anyhow. As for the two weigh-ins and the gass burned, it's not any different than a two day tourney. You're just doing all the fishing in one day.
How about a side pot for biggest Striper? ;D

Here's another one........
I apologize in advance if these are anyone's daughters but from left to right...pass, pass, maybe, FOR SURE, pass, pass, pass, yup ;D

Yeah, Box Canyon is 8 miles of bumpy dirt road that leads you into a neighborhood with a posted sign showing a 357 followed by "We Don't Call 911".

Blackbrush is a pretty good ramp, a bit small but a better option than Diablo. Only withdrawl I had about that place was the delightful aroma lurking throughout the parking lot from the public facilities...hopefully it is not always like that.

EA, glad you made it to Shanghai. I'd love to go with you guys down to Amistad. Unfortunately I can't make 9/15 or 9/22 due to business travel the week of 9/17. October works better for me if that's an option. I'll stay tuned to see what the final date is and try to make it.

Go ahead and make it later in the year! I hammered them down there last October. The top water schooling bite is off the charts in October along with some monster striper action mixed in. Last Oct we would anchor up in one spot in the middle of the day and stick 50+ in 2-4 hours.

Airfob, I hope you like Lonestar!
