Have the white bass begun their spawning trip up the Pedernales or Lake Travis?

Just an update for anyone in the area - tried Riemers Ranch on Saturday ahead of the storm. The wind made for some tough fishing conditions but we were able to land 17 white bass. We also caught 3 crappie and 4 black bass in the process. Minnows works best for the kids but we also caught fish on gold spoons and small white plastic grubs. Good luck out there

Good to hear that Reimers is producing some fish. I trolled last weekend from the Narrows up to Double Horn with cranks, and caught one white bass. We then fished Double Horn and caught one more white bass. Caught plenty of LMBs, but the whites were pretty finicky. Be careful headed upriver from Double Horn, as it gets pretty skinny further up.

Reimers has a long river frontage to fish from. Because the river is low right now you will have to be ready to get wet wading. The main area normally has a lot of people around it so I head up or down river to get away from the people playing in the water. Look for deeper pockets of water and a lot of the time you can actually see the fish you are casting a bait to. Have not seen anyone report that the spawn for sand bass has started and this cold front will probably delay it if they were actually about to start. But it will probably be within the next 30-45 days.
