I launched at Cedar Breaks boat ramp at 6:45AM and headed over to the inlet across the lake and there were two bass boats there and a kayaker fishing for Large mouth. They were busting the water around us but were not hitting anything. So I started back across to fish the cliffs. I was throwing a Norman DD22 Firetiger deep diver and caught this 22" - 6+ lb. LMB.
Then I fished down the cliffs almost across from Russel Park and again crossed the lake to fish between the two inlets with trees and timber. Again fishing with the same DD22 Firetiger and in 30 feet of water before I got to the opposite bank, I caught this 24" - 8 lber.
My wife called about that time to see if I was doing any good and told her "you won't belive the 8 lber. in my lap right now" This was my personal best fish ever. (PB before was a 6.39 lber. from in front of the Fat Farm on Lake Austin - shown to the left in the thumbnail) what a beautiful morning on the "Dead Sea" and great way to celebrate the state holiday, and LBJ's birthday...hahaha
...And not another boat in sight to take a good photo of me with this fish...
My 10' Pelican Predator boat came through for me again. And as low as the water was at Lake Georgetown, me and the kayakers maybe the only ones on that lake in another week or two. The end of the boat ramp was only about 10 feet in the water and if the water level drops another couple of feet, I wonder if they will close the ramp to regular sized boat trailers.
Anyway, gonna go back out there Saturday morning and try again. Been skunked too many times on that lake and glad to finally catch a couple of big ones.
