Although it rained ALL DAY, had a great trip to Fayette Wednesday.

Caught a few early by the Dam on flukes, then the heavy rain started. Switched to a SPRO BBZ-1 swimbait, and had a blast. Waking the bait right on the surface, and they'd blast it like they were eating a buzzbait.
When the rain lightened up, after a brief stint in the truck because of some pretty close lightning, I started throwing a Salt & Pepper Shad Assassin w/ a Chartruese tail, and they were eating it up. One of the most fun days I've had on the water in a while.
No big fish, but probably 25 to 30 fish from 2.5 to 5 lbs. Enough to make my hands pretty sore. ;D

Wow, we should have stayed! Lance and I hit the lake at 6:30 and had a good topwater bite, then went into the stump field north of the dam. We were in the blue/white Skeeter pictured below. When the rain hit big time we hightailed it back to the ramp and got the boat out in a heavy downpour. We were soaked like someone turned the fire hose on us. Calling the wife sitting by the TV, we heard that LaGrange was getting hammered and there was a huge cell headed towards us. So we drove off and soon hit bluebird skies. We then went to Bastrop for two hours and got skunked there. Back in Austin by noon.

Steeler, I saw you guys out there. I was in the red and black Skeeter and started out on the corner of the dam within sight of you guys.

I jumped in the truck when the lightning got bad, but went back out when it was still raining pretty hard, and they were eatin pretty good.

Caught 'em good til the wind picked way up and the clouds went away.
