Started fishing around 9. Four or five bass boat trailers in the parking lot. Had my partner today...she caught three on a hand poured Keitech. I caught two on a Texas rigged neko with a 2.75" TRD, one on a dropshot with a flatworm, and four on the little shad on the 1/16 jig head. The biggest fish was probably 9" and the smallest were 5"- 6" spotted bass. As I think about it all the fish we caught were spots. Quit at 12:45. Got a kind of fishing report when I reached the parking lot..all but one had gone already. Stringy grass growing to the surface in many places now. Water was 76º when we left. The single feeds are still happening over 40 FOW or so. The electronics showed a lot of suspended fish and bait. Saw a few shad floating...tiny, under 2". I started to not even do this report..but I tell it like it is.
I‘m glad you tell like it is. I always make up a bunch of stuff for the readers. Georgetown is a beautiful lake and close by. I’ll get over there this fall for sure.
I was out there Sunday morning, put 3 in the boat, counting one small white that ate a soft plastic. Kind of a dreary report, but was still better than sitting home
Jeremy I doubt you have needed to make up a fishing story in years. But I do enjoy the color you add to the telling. And its good for the forum to have more people giving us real information on here. Thanks y'all.
Feeling much better about my catch yesterday after seeing the first day results of the Bassmaster Elite on Guntersville. 46 of 85 didn't get a limit..many caught only one keeper and one poor guy zeroed. He's a good fisherman who has won before. Yesterday afternoon I went to the cement pond for an hour and caught five on the dropshot with a flatworm.
Longhorn thanks for the report and the update on the Pro's. Makes me feel better too. You'll notice my last several (and the one I'll put up later today) reports have not had photos. I have not caught a picture worthy fish in several weeks only little fellas that will hopefully grow up to be real fish. I will get out and try again this weekend.
Also, 5 in an hour regardless of size is a good time.
