First time in the boat since June 9th due to hip replacement surgery and hot weather. Was good to get out again. The lake is almost 10 ft low, stained, and still 83º. Started fishing around 8:15 on a shaded main lake stretch. I tried to force-feed them a drop shot with flat worm for a long time. Partner fished with the 2.8 swim bait. She stuck with it and caught two decent fish and lost two more. I caught one dink on the 2.8, one dink on a neko rigged 4" senko, and a hard pulling drum on the neko. I pitched it to the shade of a large submerged boulder and it took off for the middle of the lake. Enjoyed the hard pull. I told her I was the definition of "spun out" meaning I ended up with seven or eight rods on the deck fishing each a little while and not establishing anything like a pattern. Stopped fishing around 11:15. Really hot out there. Lake was not crowded. Looking forward to some cooler weather.
