Called the Corps Project Office to see if Jim Hogg was open. The very nice lady says it will open March 9th. When I got to Cedar Breaks Texas Malibu was backing down a wake boat but they aborted the launch for some reason. They came back up and turned left on the road around to the parking lot. They stopped in the middle and proceeded to work on the boat. I had to go the wrong way to the parking lot then turn around. Inconsiderate azzes. Got my usual late start with first cast at 11:27. Caught the first fish on a 3" minnow, then one on a 3.3 Keitech. Both very light hits. Went a long way for no bites. Picked up a wacky senko and got bit soon but missed the fish. Then caught three on it. Had five by around 1:00. Tried many things and many places for no fish. I had the bites to make a good day. At least four hit the 3.3 and pulled hard for a second or two and came unbuttoned. I think the bow in the line made my sweep hookset not work. I also had many hits on the senko I didn't get. I caught my next fish around 4:40 according to the photo data. I had gone back to the area where I caught the senko fish and caught the one in the photo right away. Caught three more from that general area. Very late I ran to a similar area and got several bites on the senko and finally caught one there. So clicked 10 by the time I quit at 6:15. It was near dark. I haven't stayed so late in forever but there was definitely a late bite. Water was 57º-58º.
