Got my usual late start fishing around 9:00. Had this idea to crank and cover water for a change. Caught one on a DT-6 and fished enough water to abandon the cranking. Picked up the hand pour 2.8 and started catching right away. On one windy bank tried the panfish helicopter and caught a decent fish right away. Caught another soon after that on the same bank. Had 12 by noon. Nine on the 2.8. Slowed down after lunch and was stuck on 12 a long time. Alternated between the helicopter and the 2.8 and caught 5 more by the time I quit at 2:45. All the fish were in shallow water. I dropshotted some in the morning with no results. Of the 17 I think 5 were on the helicopter. Average size was up. Only caught 2 of those "young of the year" 6"spots. Water was 75-76º. No wake boats. No jet skis. Still hot though. Saw only two other fishing boats.
