Well I am happy to say that I caught 4 bass on a carolina rig today Woooo HOOOOO. It was my first time using this setup. I purchased the pre-made kind at academy.

Question : How long should the leader be between the setup and the hook?

I used a 6 inch worm on the hook Watemellon Green.

All the bass were 1/2 pound or so. I just went to the Dam and cast toward the shoreline and worked it back to the boat dragging it across the bottom.

It worked !!

Nice, The carolina rig is new to me as well, only a few on it. I like to put 12-18 inches for the leader, and I usually don't use the glass beads on LA unless the waters murky.

There is no right or wrong answer when throwing your c-rig, I usually make mine between 2' to 5' but have seen some guy's make them 6' foot or longer. It basically depends on what you are comfortable throwing. Let the fish tell you what they want. i.e. start with a longer one and if you are not getting bit start shortening it up like 6" at a time. Dont get frustrated which is sounds like you are off to a good start. The c-rig was one of the hardest techniquies for me to gain any confidence in becasue I just did not like it. But now I always have one rigged and have a good deal of confidence in it. Good Luck! JR
