I use to fish this lake back in the early 80's. Actually a good looking bass fishing lake, trees, humps, grass and structure...

Lake Sam Rayburn is the largest lake in Texas with 537 miles of shoreline.
SAM RAYBURN LAKE Surface area: 114,500 acres

Compared to Falcon Lake: 83,654 acres and Amistad Lake 64,900 acres and Texoma at 89,000 acres!

A couple of reports I found:

Paris, you better man up in East Texas, if them boys hear you are afraid to touch a catfish they may make a gfriend out of you. :-*

I bet Paris and Fobio will remind me how much my equip sucks and I bet Mike does have the best Al Borland signature series shirt cause I sure as heck dont own one. If it will help me catch a 9, I will definitely make a stop before we go though.

I bet I get me some Alan gloves.

Robby you shouldn't need Andy and I to let you know how much your equipment sucks, just load it up with those little blue pills and stall tall my friend, it'll be okay. All it is, is jewelry for the boat. I obviously don't know how to use any of it.

I cant wait to see some team TOZ embroidered Al Borland special shirts! That is going to be E texas gangsta style.

I did hear that a wizard is showing up during the late night meeting too. I wonder what that dumba... has to say this time.

We're def. going to have figure a little friendly wager to make it exciting. I'm thinking after I pick up my check Sat. we all head back to ATX and whoever had the heaviest bag gets a little showing of appreciation from our peers at the good ol' 10 spot.

I'm ready to rock. If you really want to mix it up, heres what we do...

Night before tourney starts- Draw straw and longest to shortest gets to pick GPS units...

After day one- the drawing of units goes in reverse...

I suggest everyone agree to this, and Robby and I will let you all know on Thursday...

Any takers? :D

I was checking the mileage from Austin Tx to Broaddus Tx is 300 miles

I will be in McKinney, Texas on Tuesday, headed for Lufkin late in the day (265 miles!) Might have to stop off and have an adult beverage!

The Hanks Creek Day Use Ramp and the Mill Creek ramps are OPEN.

NOTE: - TWIN DIKES PARK will CLOSE to camping November 2, 2008, so that hazard trees can be addressed - the boat ramps will remain open. This closure is expected to last 2-3 weeks.

As of Friday, October 10, 2008 SAN AUGUSTINE PARK is now OPEN

Mill Creek Park will OPEN Friday, October 24, 2008. Campsites 47-107 will be available at this time

I say we drink till we pass out and whoever stays up the longest gets GPS units, points, and best takeoff number. If there are two or more still awake at the time needed to go to the ramp, then we draw straws.

Screw the gps units, I kinda like mine.
