Hit the Lake Travis this morning around 9am and proceeded to my favorite coves. Tried the zellpop and no bites so I decided it was a good morning to try the Whopper Plopper since there were a few waves hitting the banks.
Caught two fish, a 2 3/4 lber and a 1 1/2 lber. Then caught the next 6 on watermelon red baby brush hogs with the tail dipped in chartreuse. On the bottom against the rocks.
Heard thunder around 1:20 and saw the thunderstorms headed my way so headed for my boat dock. I have been on Lake Travis when a thunderstorm came up quickly and learned to respect the weather and not to chance it.
