TBucky and I took a little trip over to Fayette on sat afternoon.  We got there around 3 in hopes that the morning boats would be coming of the lake.   We pulled up to the first cove and a flipped in my first 24in fish on fayette in over 4 yrs.  She was spawned out and weighted in at 7.4oz.  Funny thing was the week before I had caught a 6 off the same reed bush....pretty cool.  The fishing was pretty slow for the next few hours only triging and crigging a few small one.  TBuck was skunked the first 3 hours except for a awesome fight he had with a tree branch. I've never seen a man set a hook and fight a branch like he did. As dusk began my new found pattern was on.  We caught 5 fish around 6lbs and 3 or 4 more 4-5lbers.  When is was all done we had close to 30 fish with the final 20 coming in the last 45 minutes.  The post spawn patterns have been a little harder to fish.  It has been a little harder to get those 50-60fish days.
7.4 lbs
6.2 from the week before.

Good point Fish,

Would have liked to seen that branch too. Must have been some kind of record! ;D

Maybe Rude Ho can start a ABF Big Branch board.

We could all show off our record tree that was landed ;D

Nice fish Big Dub. Me and my buddy were out on buchanan 2 years ago and my buddy wrestled with the anchor for almost an hour with a ultra light before breaking off. Funniest part was when we pulled the anchor about an hour later we found a nice white tangled on the anchor rope, so there really was a fish on it. We still laugh about it to this day. Good times. Iam going to LBJ this weekend with the wife, but looking at these pictures wish I would have booked a cabin at fayette. Love that lake!

I can't believe this tree branch "story" has taken on a life of its own!! Hey, at least I had a mixed bag!!  What about MY fish.........he never offered to take MY picture!!  Anyway, there's nothing alike "tree" branch on a crankbait to get the blood flowing.......just think......if it had broke off on the way to the boat with my rod bent over so much.....I'd be talking about the one that got away.  I enjoyed it BigDub...

I do not care what anybody says TXbucky, A toad, a Log, still a good catch IMO.

It could have been your PB!

My best Log is only 8.9 Lbs. I have been trying to land a Double digit for some time now.

You fought it hard, and that is all that matters!! ;D

Hope to see you again on Wed night sometime.. Drag that Dawg with ya too!!

Caster, the spawn is basically over. There are a few still up, but very few.

Buck if we would have had a little light we would have had a few more awesome pics to show off. I think you fought the stick harder than the 6 pounder.
