Started the day off Sunday morning about 10:30am at the dam and caught tons of dinks. Moved to the intake and caught a few scattered around, Then moved over to the rock pile at the outake and caught a 19 and a 20 incher,,,several smaller ones. Took our act out onto the manlake hump circuit. 1st two humps skunked. 3rd hump...wowzer!!! Fish after fish after fish after fish and it was on all the way till dark.I caught all of mine on a c-rig/7inch finesse power worm. Buddy preferred a t-rig, but I was sticking more on the c-rig. What a great day! These hump fish went from 1 -4 pounds.

I have not fished Fayette in years, but have always wondered why the slot is not producing any hawgs - same with Bastrop?

IMO, part of the problem is that nobody keeps the undersized fish. If more were kept I think we would see more larger fish.

Thanks for your report!

I was out there Sunday and Friday for that matter. I have been trying to find some of those larger fish with some positive results. I caught 18 fish Sunday with (2) 5# and a 5.75#. Friday I got a 6# and a 6.5#. That makes 5 trips to Fayette in the last month with at least one 5# each trip. Something to be said to throwing larger baits. All large fish were caught on swimbaits but one that was caught on a 10" inch worm.

I was fishing with Phisherman on Friday and he caught a 5# and lost another and he was using a larger profile bait to hook both of them.

Water was 70-72 degrees in the fingers. We used finesse worms due to the high pressure system, and bluebird skies and that's probably whu we caught a lot of dinks. But them dinks were fun too! On one 15 minute stretch I had a fish on per cast. Broke my leader several times due to catching too many without retying.
