It was just a short trip to get of the house for a little while. Caught most fish on a crank bait, fishing 8 to 12 feet. Really didn’t move around too much, just pulled up to a couple of places and began throwing baits. Top water bite was good too. Fished very little plastic, but did pick up a few around the timber with it. Fished for four hours and caught 14 fish. It wasn’t a great day, but I had a good time.

Yes sir, it felt good to get back on the water for a little while.
I took my little toy poodle with me and when it got too hot on the deck for her to walk around on it, I called it the day. The bite was still on in the deeper water when I left.
I also noticed that the fish are beginning to accumulate in the cool water thermals already. A night trip should produce some numbers, along with some nice size fish. When the moon phase gets right, I’ll be back out there which should be pretty soon.
