Well we made the hike down to the Falc. Due to my rediculous work schedule we left Austin about 1a.m. Sun. morning and returned about 1 a.m. mon. morning. Tough 24 hours! We stopped in Falcon tackle about 6:30 for a little last minute advice. What a nice guy, very friendly and helpful. He gave us some locations and recommended spinnerbaits and cranks. We went down there expecting to flip alot of plastics but man, so overwhelming. The rising water has flooded so much brush and grass you could tie in one spot flip for three hours and feel like you left fish behind. So we hit the water at sun up had a couple hits on topwater. My backseat struck first with a nice 4 on spinner and I only managed 3 hook-ups and couldn't put anything in the boat
We took off around noon for lunch and a quick trolling charge. Hit the water around 2:15 armed with what we learned that morning. The afternoon proved very eventful. I landed a 4 really quick, backseat landed a 2 and a 3 1/2 right of the bat. We really put a pattern on them. In pierce's creek there were shad holding in little pockets right on the shore in thick grass. Run a spinnerbait through them and it was on! I lost a lot of fish. Highlited by a 6 or so that hit the spinner ran into a bush jumped 3 feet out of the water and hung there for about 30 seconds before he came off and a nice bass of 7-8 that I lost on the 3rd or 4th jump right at the boat. A little disappointment, but all in all a heck of a trip we landed around 14 with nothing under 2 and most fish between 3 1/2 and 4 1/2. I lost probably a 10 fish on a spinner. Who knows? One of those days. Another day or two and we could have really done some good. I'm really excited about the lake and will be back for sure
