Work took me on a 900 mile round trip of South Texas so we took advantage and fit in a couple days of fishing Falcon. Can you say hot! We fished mornings until about noon and then again in the evenings starting about 5:30 PM.
Water levels still up pretty good from the recent floods so the places we scouted/fished in May were 20+ foot under water.
Fished both the Litte and Big Tigres rivers focusing on the outside edge of tree lined points and bluffs. Most caught in 8-10 ft of water on Yammato black/chartreuse 8 inch grubs and my now go to bait for Falcon 8 inch Super Fluke Watermelon Magic. All fished T-rigged. Fishing was slow with no more than 8-10 fish caught in each outing. My buddies caught a few on top water chug bugs and boy that was fun to watch.
I did manage a new personal best of 7lbs 10oz. It was the biggest of the trip with some 3's, 4's and 5's mixed in. I don't think there are any small fish in that lake. : ;D
Here is the 7-10
