wowza, day lease used to be $30 on average.  Doves must taste better than they used to!
Watch out Matt, you're starting to sound like an old fart.  I know from personal experience:  "What the...?  I remember when a topwater at Academy was $1.39, and that was the top of the line!  The regular ones were 99 cents.  What gives with these $14 topwaters?"  And so one...

The chit done went up Amigo.  And it won't be coming down again.

Box of 12 gauge dove load used to be $2.99 too.  Box (of 25) of high-velocity 1.5 oz duck loads used to be $4.99.  Them days is gown my friend!

Hell..........I remember buying my baits at White's Automotive, Gibson's, and Davis Hardware, all on Burnet Rd., with my lunch money, while attending Lamar Jr. High. Occasionally, I would make the trip to the original Academy across from Hancock Center with my dad, and savor the smell of the military tarps,etc..

Talk about an old fart.

That's hilarious!  We used to buy lures at Gibson's on Burnet back in the day, across from the Genie CarWash.  The gibson's is long gone, but is the Genie still there?

The original Academy was awesome too.  Remember the kid doing the TV add? "We got all kinds of tarps, tents, camping gear, ammmo, etc. etc." all delivered in a perfect monotone that could only be reproduced by careful reading of the cue card.  Those were the days!

I attended Burnet Jr. High, and we kicked Lamar's arse on a regular basis, dam near as often as they kicked ours!

I remember going to the 'Original Academy' when they were nothing but Military Surplus. When they started carrying Sneakers I scratched my head? It just did not seen right.

And Gibson's was 'The Store' in the day.

I was in Kerrville about 5 years ago and they still had ( don't know if it is still open) a Gibson's. I felt like I had time traveled.

Oh, I do still have the $30/day Dove lease in Stonewall. But there are no Doves. ;)

Yes the Gibsons is still open in Kerrpatch.
I couldn't compare "back then" prices because i've only hunted those "mini fighter jets" for 8 yrs. Back then a case of shells were 25-30 bucks-now 65-70..... go figure!!!!

I came home from being born at Brakenridge, to 5002 Woodview. I spent many hours/days fishing Shoal Creek, where it was dammed up just north of your childhood home.
I used to catch bass up to 5lbs., a lot of "perch", and a few bullheads in that stretch of water from North Loop... on down to the dam.

If the post isn't being found, does that likely mean they filled up and took down their ad?
That happened to me on 3 of them.
