figgered i'd post a report since i heard a bit of grumbling about decker this weekend.

i had no issues....with catching fish, that is. i found them abundant next to the reeds in coves tossing a weightless baby bass senko on a #2 g-lock hook. i missed some, but hooked more than i missed. 8/20 was on at 630 off at noon. 8/21 on at 7 off at 1030.

all of the fish were healthy mostly 2-4#, but i did catch a 1.5 this morning 8/21.

i say "no issues" because once again my brand new lowrance ghost troller is acting up. yesterday it took shutting down ALL for the power to the boat several times to get the foot pedal and head to work together. today, even that didnt work. the head gets power and the pedal gets power, but the head doesnt react to ANY input from the pedal. i have my shallow water anchors connected to the pedal and they work. active target and sonar are on the shaft of the troller and they work. that's how i was able to fish today. i simply raised and lowered the poles and let the wind push me down the bank (thankfully the wind was light today!) so, tomorrow this $70k toy goes back to the shop to see if they can resolve the issue.

sorry this turned in the a ***** session about the boat, but its really frustrating!

That is on the new boat? Troubles suck, especially electronic ones. At least you made the best of it and caught some fish
yep the new nitro. so far i have been MUCH happier with my old '93 Skeeter. the boat and motor on the nitro have been super, but the trailer, the electronics especially and the little attention to detail on the boat have been noticeably lacking.
i don't know if new Skeeters have had the same issue (like vehicles built during covid and such), but i am really regretting the purchase at this point. not gonna stop me from fishing though!

I have heard the fit and finish has suffered some, not sure what to think about the electronics though...let's just blame Covid. Glad I opted for an upgrade/downgrade by going from my 2016 tracker to a 2004 Ranger. Just feels more better...lol

Sucks when you have boat issues, especially on a brand new one. What was the lake level like? Haven't been out there since the middle of May.
water level is the normal extreme low at this time of year where the trailer levels out just at the wheel wells, be very careful!

UPDATE - BPS has replaced the entire unit except the mount. Next time I go out I will update again, but i was told this is a known issue with the new ghost trollers. the tech also has a ghost in there with side scan interference (i dont use side scan on my troller) and one with 360 scan that is having interference issues. apparently lowrance couldn't be bothered to use shielded cables and they crammed all the wiring through a tight space and he wires are crimping.
