Decker 5/23/23

Decided to try something different so planned a Decker trip. This would be my first time on Decker. I had confidence in the techniques I've been using all spring until I saw the water clarity. To my eye, not much over a foot. First cast about 10:35. Fished around and tried different things and caught three on the 2.8 Keitech close together. I thought, here we go, but no. Long time before the next fish. I tried different things that didn't work. I re-read Jeremy's reports on Decker last night and put a 4" senko, wacky on a dropshot. Didn't take long to catch a fish on that. Thanks, Jeremy! I just covered water with that the rest of the day. Clicked 12 by the time I called it at 4:45 and was very glad to get them. I commend Jeremy and Todd and all of you who have figured this lake out. Don't think I'll spend the time to try to do that. Water was 80º-84º. Took a couple of photos just to show I was there.

I see that GoPro set up in the edge of the picture! Let’s see some footage!
decker can be an incredible lake or it can humble an angler very quickly. it does fish quite a bit different from the rocky lakes you're used to (gtown, belton, stillhouse), but it fishes very much like bastrop on most days.

If you use GoPros you know how unreliable they are. This is a Hero 9 and it works great all day sometimes. Some days it stops recording and repairs files continually and shuts down for no reason. Can only be restarted by pulling the battery and putting it back in. Decker was one of the bad days. It was off most of the day, didn't bother to take it down.

not sure how old your gopro is, but i had a hero 4 and the only reason it quit is because it is sitting about 200' at the bottom of the ocean off the coast of belize
i got a hero 9 to replace it because i have a scuba buddy who loves hers. i havent had a chance to use mine so i hope maybe you just got a dud! maybe the issues are from bouncing across waves or do you take it down when underway?
