This was caught near power plan ...(other side)

by the way, I have a question:
What would you do when you are about heading to the boat dock for loading and there are people swimming right at the boat ramp...

Thunder,

The scene by the ramp at Decker is out of control. Several weeks ago, the locals had fishing lines out blocking every place to dock. I was fishing alone and needed to dock while I got my trailer. Long story short, I ended up in a fist fight with some gangster trash. Best part is that a fat cop watched and did nothing.

Someone will probably need to run over a swimmer before anyone cares. If you have a CHL, I'd pack at Decker. I wish I had a better answer for you.

I forgot to mentioned about a water ski .. it carried 1 adult a 2~3 year old boy and a 7~8 year old girl was riding very close to the boat dock.. he was like making wave turn around all kind of thing .. I think the guy was trying to show off or some thing and suddenly that thing turned upside down  for a moment I saw the girl and him but didn't see the boy..I am about to yell but than I saw the boy came up and he was crying like hell. I am sure he filled up his belly with water .good thing is he did wear life jacket .. one thing I witness was the guy didn't pay attention to those lilttle kids but the water ski..because since that thing flip over ..he was trying to turn that thing up instead of look for those kids..

Nice fish there Thunder. What a mess, a fist fight. He is in the wrong and he wants to fight about it, You would think that common sence would have to come into play somewhere. There is pleanty of places to fish from the shore and to swim, but only one ramp. I carry every time I go to Decker.

It sounds like it's getting even worse or more dangerous to go to Decker these days :-/

So far I guess I have been pretty lucky. I have not run into any trouble out there. Of course, I normaly go out in the morning on weekdays. Not very many people out there then.
We need to watch out for each other out there, and any other boat ramps.

good point Emmet, even though there's not much common sense left in people these days, those of us that still have some common sense can look out for each other. You can bet if I was there I would have been been right in the middle of it . I hate to see good things happen to bad people. I guess I've been lucky also in my many recent trips to Decker I haven't had any trouble but you can definantly tell the potential for problems is there. we should all do our parts to look out for each other and our boats and trucks and gear

When I have gone to decker I have not had any problems yet, I heard that watch your car so it doesnt get broken into. and so forth becuase of how "ghetto" it is. I have gone alone and had no problems. Actually once I was pulling my boat out and the tires weren't catching (which since I was alone I was like OH SH_T I am in trouble). There were some guys that were bar b queing and just walked over jumped on the rear of the truck without asking and helped me out. Hope all the bad gets cleared.

Had a question, I see at these lakes it says no weopons. Can you still carry if you have your Concealed handgun license?

Thanks, any help on this lake, would help I like the structure. Kinds/colors of baits

I'm not an attorney nor LE but I think you can. According to HB 1815
http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/tlodocs/80R/billtext/html/HB01815I.htm

(b) Section 46.02 does not apply to a person who:

[(3)] is traveling;
(3) [(4)] is engaging in lawful hunting, fishing, or
other sporting activity on the immediate premises where the
activity is conducted, or is en route between the premises and the
actor's residence or motor vehicle, if the weapon is a type commonly
used in the activity;

I will probably make a phone call tomorrow to confirm..
Hopefully none of this will be necessary if we just keep an eye out for one another!

There are 3 things you need to watchout..
1.. Unexperience/newer water ski with a bunch of people but ONLY 1 water ski..
2. Woman and kids swimming right at the Boat dock and
3. Bank fishing people.....

Just keep an eye for the above three's

I live only 10 minutes or so from the Lake.. I'd say I've been there almost every week so I know the situation very well ...
